Peace

These times of people loosing their jobs and sometimes families, there is a lack of peace in people's lives. Perhaps even your life...

God wants us to have peace in our lives regardless of our circumstances.

This blog is called Wealth and Riches because it is my desire to see you Wealthy and Rich in every area of your life. Spiritually, financially, physically, and in your relationships with others.
It's not always easy to have a well balanced life, but I do believe it is achievable when we focus on each area of our lives to have all these traits. I'm not promising you can gain each one overnight, some takes years to attain fully, but I do believe you can start building each into your life starting today.

Peace...How in the world do we have it when things around us are anything but peaceful?

First we must come to realize that peace does not mean perfection around us or even in ourselves.
We might be experiencing a job loss, or threat of a job loss. Perhaps a family challenge, or a health issue. Yet we can have peace when we pay attention to our spiritual lives and understand where peace can come from.

In the Bible Jesus says "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."- John 16:33

Jesus is pointing out that in the world we have tribulations. Other words for "tribulation" would be affliction, hardship, distress, adversity. We all have those in this world, there is no doubt, but let's focus on what Jesus promise is: "be of good cheer; I have overcome the world".
That's great news! You see through Jesus we can be of good cheer even when hardship and adversity comes our way!

Philippians 4:7 tells us "and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

How? let's jump up to verse 6. It says "Be careful for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God."

So we are to start by petitioning God through prayer along with giving thanks.
We always have something to be thankful for, even if it's the breath of life.

The other day I asked someone I've known for a few years "how are you doing?" and he said
"I'm upright and breathing".
Well, it's a start anyhow. If you have nothing more to be thankful for, you can be thankful that you are alive.

Now let's go deeper and find how we can have this peace that God is giving us.
In Philippians 4:8 the bible tells us what we are to dwell on:
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are
*true
whatsoever things are
*honest
whatsoever things are
*just
whatsoever things are
*pure
whatsoever things are
*lovely,
whatsoever things are of
*good report;
if there by any
*virtue, and if there be any
*praise,
think on these things.

Let's break these words down into further meaning to so can apply them to our daily lives:

True: (not concealed or hidden) As in secrets or gossip. Only things that are true.

Honest: honorable in principles, intentions, and actions; upright and fair

Just: innocent, holy, righteous

Pure: clean or blameless

Lovely: friendly toward, affection of the heart towards others

Good report: well spoken, reputable

Virtue: valor, excellence, praise. Valor means boldness or determination in facing great danger, esp. in battle; heroic courage; bravery

Praise: commendable thing, praise worthy.

Those are a lot of things to think about! Fill your mind with these things instead of your challenges and your problems and Gods peace will fill you instead of fear and turmoil.

May you have more Wealth and Riches in your life today!
