Goals

Goals, they are like exercise it seems. We all know we should do it, but usually put it off until the negative effects have taken their toll.

But how can we motivate ourselves to create personal goals for 2010 or any year for that matter? What can we do to actually create and write down our goals?

"A person without a goal is like a ship without a rudder." -- Denis Waitley

"Look for role models who have succeeded in achieving goals similar to your own – individuals with whom you can personally identify." -- Denis Waitley

Only three percent of adults have written goals, and everyone else works for them.
-- Brian Tracy

I believe you can see and hopefully be inspired to write down your goals starting NOW. Once you have them written down, you'll need to break them into workable steps with dates so you can take action on going towards each goal. Without action, your goal is only a dream. With action your dream is a workable and achievable goal!

Once you have your goals written down view them at least twice a day and work towards them at least five days a week until you have reached them.

One more quote to keep in mind after you have written down your goals:

“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.”

  1. Isn't that the truth!! I totally agree with you... If we see the goals can't be reached, we need to not just give up on our goals, but rather adjust our action steps.
