How to Avoid Being Laid off, be a person of Excellence!

Notes taken from a Joel Osteen Sermon:

Col 3:23 Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as unto the Lord.

Honor God. When you look good, He looks good.

What ever we do, we should do it with our whole heart, no half way. Do it to the best of your ability. Do it with excellence.

You have an incredible advantage when you work for God. He's the one that brings promotion. He's the one that brings one up and another down. Keep being your best in spite of who's trying to pull you down. When you have this spirit of excellence, you go the extra mile; knowing that the quality of your work is the reflection of the quality of your character.

Excellence shouldn't be something that we do once in awhile as long as someone is watching. Excellence should be our standard. Excellence is doing the right thing even when no one can see you. Even when you do not think it's necessary. Even when you don't agree. You have given your word, so you're going to live up to it.

Getting to work on time, not making personal calls on company time. Not complaining when your supervisor asks you to do something.
You might say "It's just a small thing, no body would know". The scriptures says in Song of Solomon 2:15 "it is the little foxes that spoil the vines."

You don't want something small to keep you from God releasing something big. To keep you from everything God has created you to be.

Make the decision today that you will work with excellence. Not only does it honor God, but it's one of the best witnesses you can have.

Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

What ever you do, get better at it. Be productive in sharping your skills. don't be complaisant; keep improving.

An article that was published recently listed three major reasons for people that were not laid off and how they avoided it:

1. Having a positive attitude
2. Being versatile
3. Always improving their skills

When you are a person of excellence you always do more then expected.

Go the extra mile.
Matt 5:41 When someone asks you to walk a mile with them, walk two.
Back in Roman times, a Roman Soldier was allowed by law to ask someone to carry their armor for them one mile. Then after the mile they would have to ask someone else to carry it the next mile.
Jesus is saying to go the extra mile in what ever you do, at your job; in your business, in your home, in your church; what ever you are doing.

Working with excellence you will be indeed blessed with more Wealth and Riches in your own life.
