Cage Free? See for yourself in this video I made

The pictures above are a Cage Free? Farm...

It all started with me watching Oprah about the egg industry and seeing how chickens are abused by being in small cages stacked on top of one another laying eggs for our benefit. Oprah suggested we buy Cage Free or Range Free eggs only to support the right treatment of animals. I was all for it. A great idea!

Until I ran across this article today: Don't be misled by these food label tricks Especially the article saying that not all packages of eggs that say Cage Free or Range free are what we expect it to be...

Watch the video and see actual pictures of a near by "cage free farm" that I decided to go check out myself. The farm will go unnamed so I will not be sued.

There's some additional information I discovered after making this video. After inspecting the egg carton, I see stamped on it is a certified stamp by United Egg Producers. It says "Produced in Compliance with United Egg Producers Animal Husbandry Guidelines www.uepcertified.com " After reading the information on this site, I'm convinced their idea of humane treatment of chickens and mine are totally different.

So, what does this have to do with Wealth and Riches? The point is, if I'm spending almost three times the amount of money for eggs to support the cage free chicken/egg industry that's what I want my money to go to as I'm sure you are the same way.

Enjoy the video and please leave me your comments below.

Wishing you more Wealth and Riches in your life.

Dexter

  1. Cage-free may not be cruelty-free, but it's a lot better than battery cage confinement of laying hens. At least cage-free hens can walk, spread their wings, lay their eggs in nests, etc. They generally can't go outside, but at least they can move around and engage in other behaviors denied to battery hens.
