What if the world is one big disappointment?
I just got done watching again Pay It Forward .
The whole concept in case you haven't seen the movie is to do something big for 3 people that could not do something in their lives for themselves and they are not allowed to pay you back. They are to "pay it forward" instead to 3 people.
If everyone did this, it would indeed help change the world for the better.
