What to do if you screwed up in the past

What to do if you screwed up in the past:

The longer you live, and the more you live; the more likely you'll make mistakes.
Sometimes BIG ones, sometimes small ones. But what do we do about those sins or mistakes in the "past" we made that are affecting our "now"?

Think of actions as "seeds". Some of the seeds we have sown are what I call "weed seeds." The funny thing about weeds are, they seem to grow faster than "good seeds."
I'm not sure if that's always true, but it sure seems like it. Especially if you sown enough "weed seeds" that it starts choking out the "good seed" or deeds in your life.

The first thing you have to do to get more good things going in your life than the negative is to "take responsibility for your own actions." When we stop blaming our Ex Spouse, our Mother, our Father, our Brothers, our Sisters, our teachers, our Government; and actually start taking responsibility of our lives is the starting point of having a GREAT life!

Second thing to do is: Start sowing "good seeds."
Now realize that if you spent a long time (maybe most of your life) sowing weed seeds that it's going to take some time for the good seeds to overcome the bad ones.

Start sowing A LOT of good seeds! The more the better! Keep doing it day in, day out. The more you sow, the more that will overtake the bad, and sooner or later you're going to see a field full of good fruit instead of weeds!

Thirdly: Don't give up too soon. It can be discouraging at times when you keep doing what's right and not see the fruit of your labors. But do not be deceived, you will reap what you sow if you do not faint!

Fourth: Don't fool yourself into believing your actions don't matter.
Just because you don't see the results of your actions does not mean "you got away with it." For example you might eat at a fast food place almost every day in your 20's and as your continue to eat there into your 30's, you will see and feel the difference in your body. But during years 20-29 for example it doesn't SEEM to matter. Slowly it catches up with you.

Another example would be smoking. You smoke, you feel good at first. It calms you, gives you satisfaction of some sort even. You know in your brain that it's not really good for you, but you keep fooling yourself that "it's not THAT BAD". Why? Because you don't feel or see the effects until many years later. By then many times it's too late and your health is shot!

Another example would be cheating in school. You cheat, you pass, you don't get caught. Maybe you NEVER get caught. You think you're getting away with it. You even get a High School Diploma! Then you get out into the "real world" and you find you can't get a job because you can't pass the tests the employers give to you. Why? Because of those 4 years of cheating. Come to find out, the teacher was right when they said "When you cheat, you're really cheating yourself." At the time you blew it off and said "yeah right!, what ever." But after time, you noticed it has caught up to you!

I'm sure you get the drift.

So what do you do when the past is affecting your "now"?
Take responsibility for your actions, quit blaming others; and start sowing good seeds.

Wishing you more Wealth and Riches in every area of your life!

I once read that a coincidence is just when God chooses to remain anonymous.......

I once read that a coincidence is just when God chooses to remain anonymous.......

The SPARROW at STARBUCKS -> The song that silenced the cappuccino machine

It was chilly in Manhattan but warm inside the Starbucks shop on 51st Street and Broadway, just a skip up from Times Square. Early November weather in New York City holds only the slightest hint of the bitter chill of late December and January, but it's enough to send the masses crowding indoors to vie for available space and warmth.

For a musician, it's the most lucrative Starbucks location in the world, I'm told, and consequently, the tips can be substantial if you play your tunes right. Apparently, we were striking all the right chords that night, because our basket was almost overflowing.

It was a fun, low-pressure gig - I was playing keyboard and singing backup for my friend who also added rhythm with an arsenal of percussion instruments. We mostly did pop songs from the '40s to the '90s with a few original tunes thrown in. During our emotional rendition of the classic, "If You Don't Know Me by Now," I noticed a lady sitting in one of the lounge chairs across from me. She was swaying to the beat and singing along.

After the tune was over, she approached me. "I apologize for singing along on that song. Did it bother you?" she asked.
"No," I replied. "We love it when the audience joins in. Would you like to sing up front on the next selection?"
To my delight, she accepted my invitation. "You choose," I said. "What are you in the mood to sing?"
"Well. ... do you know any hymns?"
Hymns? This woman didn't know who she was dealing with. I cut my teeth on hymns. Before I was even born, I was going to church. I gave our guest singer a knowing look. "Name one."

"Oh, I don't know. There are so many good ones. You pick one."

"Okay," I replied. "How about 'His Eye is on the Sparrow'?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKUyL0ZUFfM&feature=related)

My new friend was silent, her eyes averted. Then she fixed her eyes on mine again and said, "Yeah. Let's do that one."

She slowly nodded her head, put down her purse, straightened her jacket and faced the center of the shop. With my two-bar setup, she began to sing: " Why should I be discouraged? Why should the shadows come?"

The audience of coffee drinkers was transfixed. Even the gurgling noises of the cappuccino machine ceased as the employees stopped what they were doing to listen. The song rose to its conclusion : " I sing because I'm happy; I sing because I'm free. For His eye is on the sparrow. And I know He watches me".

When the last note was sung, the applause crescended to a deafening roar that would have rivaled a sold-out crowd at Carnegie Hall.
Embarrassed, the woman tried to shout over the din, "Oh, y'all go back to your coffee! I didn't come in here to do a concert! I just came in here to get somethin' to drink, just like you!" But the ovation continued.. I embraced my new friend. "You, my dear, have made my whole year! That was beautiful!"

"Well, it's funny that you picked that particular hymn," she said.

"Why is that?"

"Well . .." she hesitated again, "that was my daughter's favorite song."
"Really!" I exclaimed.
"Yes," she said, and then grabbed my hands. By this time, the applause had subsided and it was business as usual.. "She was 16. She died of a brain tumor last week."

I said the first thing that found its way through my stunned silence. "Are you going to be okay?"

She smiled through tear-filled eyes and squeezed my hands. "I'm gonna be okay. I've just got to keep trusting the Lord and singing his songs, and everything's gonna be just fine." She picked up her bag, gave me her card, and then she was gone.
Was it just a coincidence that we happened to be singing in that particular coffee shop on that particular November night? Coincidence that this wonderful lady just happened to walk into that particular shop?
Coincidence that of all the hymns to choose from, I just happened to pick the very hymn that was the favorite of her daughter, who had died just the week before? I refuse to believe it.

God has been arranging encounters in human history since the beginning of time, and it's no stretch for me to imagine that he could reach into a coffee shop in midtown Manhattan and turn an ordinary gig into a revival.
It was a great reminder that if we keep trusting him and singing his songs, everything's gonna be okay.

The next time you feel like GOD can't use YOU, just remember...
Noah was a drunk
Abraham was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a liar
Leah was ugly
Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem
Gideon was afraid
Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer
Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David had an affair and was a murderer
Elijah was suicidal

Home Remedies Found in Your Medicine Cabinet - By Dr. Oz

Home Remedies Found in Your Medicine Cabinet - By Dr. Oz

-Help with Acid Reflux- Baking Soda and water. Drink 3 times a day, five days a week, for 3 weeks.

-Take a Splinter out of your hand or finger more easily- Put a spot of glue on the area and let it dry for 20 minutes and then you can easily remove the splinter. Easier and safer than sticking a pin and prodding.

- Foods that help counter the amount of salt in our food.
1 out of 4 people in the USA die from high blood pressure. It's a silent killer.
One of the reason is there is so much salt in our foods. Very little salt that we eat daily is from the salt we add to our food.

Figs, Sweet Potato's and cooked Spinach counter the salt we are eating.

My notes: I would highly recommend besides working out and eating correctly, that we take Young Living's Omega Blue and NingXia Red.
When I first started paying attention to my Blood Pressure it was 149/86 at age 45. That was taken on 4/23/09. On 2/17/10 my Blood pressure was 122/64 .

What should your blood pressure be according to your age? Go here for a great chart

So you see, there are quite a few things we can do to help our bodies be more healthy using natural methods.

Ultimate Alternative Medicine Secrets-Dr. Oz show

Ultimate Alternative Medicine Secrets - Dr Oz show 9/6/10

Fascinating Alternative Medicine. I took notes and want to share and added my additional notes for more details.

What is Alternative Medicine?

Alternative medicine that is not used in the Western Culture that has been used in other Countries, sometimes for centuries.

Secret #1 Help for Arthritis. Mud Baths made of Clay, peat and Sulfur Water.
Has anti inflammatory benefits.

My Notes: Here's a great site about clay mud baths. http://www.eytonsearth.org/clay-baths.php

Secret #2 Aromatherapy. Can be used on pressure points on the body and inhaled to bypass the cortex and go straight into the sensory area's of the brain. Helps with reducing stress.

My notes: Aromatherapy with Essential Oils

Secret #3 Herbs Such as Sage and Black Cohosh. Good for women going through menopause.

My notes: http://altmedicine.about.com/od/blackcohosh/a/blackcohosh.htm
I'd suggest two products by Young Living for women going through menopause called:
FemaGen

And ProgessencePlus

Secret #4 Yoga- The breathing done in Yoga can drop blood pressure.
My notes: While there are I'm sure many physical benefits of Yoga, I do not recommend the spiritual aspect of Yoga.

Secret #5 Inferred Sauna two times a week can help prevent colds and flu as viruses don't do well in temperatures 80 degrees and above. It's why viruses love the Winter season. Be sure to drink plenty of water an be well hydrated before going into any Sauna.

Secret #6 Chinese method called "Cupping" It helps the blood to flow to the area that needs healing of joint pain and brings blood flow to that area. Increased blood flow helps the healing process.

Notes: I'm not sure what to think of cupping seeing how this is the first time I've been exposed to the idea. Here is more info: http://www.chinesecupping.net/history_of_chinese_cupping.html

Secret #7 Reiki (Energy Healing) A balancing process. Helps your system become balanced. Here's an audio explaining Reiki: http://www.reiki.org/Movies/Movie1.html
My Notes: Too new age for me.
I'd much rather use the laying on of hands taught in the Bible as a sound principle of healing along with anointing oils (pure).

Wishing you more Wealth and Riches in every area of your life!

Discover these Jewels and live forever!-Part 6 How to live forever!

We started out this six part series of "Find These Jewels and live forever!" by making the bold statement of "living forever." So far, everything I have written about will possibly help a person live a healthy long life. It's not as good living a long life if your body isn't healthy. That's misery, not wealth.

So...back to the Fountain of Youth. What is this myth based on and is there a way to live forever? I'll answer the second part first. Is there a way to live forever? Yes!

So, let's look at how this is done...To do so, one must go back in time. All the way back to the creation of the Earth. The only records I am aware of that describe such a time is the book of Genesis in the Bible.

It says in Gen 2:15 "And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Do you see what this means!? Man was not originally designed to die! At the point man and woman had not eaten of the tree of good and evil, which means at this point they were going to live forever! FOREVER!

But we know the story goes on: Gen 3:17 "And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return."

So now for the first time we see "death." Why? Because Adam and Eve choose not to obey God. God fulfilled His word and told Adam because you have done this you will return to the dust of the ground.

So...the question is, how do we return to the state of eternal life instead of death?

Good news! There has been a plan made, also way back in Genesis.
Gen 3:14 So the LORD God said to the serpent:
“ Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And you shall eat dust
All the days of your life.

15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

16 To the woman He said:
“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children;
Your desire shall be for your husband,
And he shall rule over you.”

This is speaking of Jesus! What about Jesus though? How does Jesus cause us to live forever? How does He restore eternal life to us?

Romans 5:18 "Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."

This is explaining that by Adam everyone was condemned to die and be under judgment.
But by one man's righteousness came justification of life (That one man is Jesus).

Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2Through him we have also obtained access by faith[b] into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

6For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation."
Death in Adam, Life in Christ
12"Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— 13for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. 14Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.

15But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. 16And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. 17For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.

18Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. 19For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. 20Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Did you read that! Especially the last part..."eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

John 3: 14"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

This is the way to eternal life! It's yours, if you will only believe.

John 10:27 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. "

This is where the fable "The Fountain of Youth" came from.
Jesus is that fountain! Let me prove it!!
John 4:10 "Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living waterstyle="font-style:italic;">." (Speaking of Himself)

John 7:38 "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."

Revelation 7:17 "For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

Are you ready for the living water?

Say this pray and mean it from your heart and you shall be saved and have eternal life.
"Dear Lord, I believe you are the living water of life. I confess I am a sinner and ask that you forgive me of all my sins. Please come into my heart this day, cleanse me and save me; in Jesus name, amen."

If you just said that prayer from your heart and confessed it with your mouth, you are now born again.

I encourage you to leave me a comment and if you have any questions feel free to email me at dextersadventures@yahoo.com

Wishing you Wealth and Riches in every part of your life!
